About Me

“Take the risk of thinking for yourself, much more happiness, truth, beauty, and wisdom will come to you that way.”

Christopher Hitchens

About Me.

Hi. I’m Adam. I’m 29 years old. I am a spouse, a new father, and an aspiring writer. I have been an Atheist and an Anti-theist for more than fifteen years, and have made a study of both the teachings of religion and those of the great secularist scholars.

About The Page.

The AntiTheist was created to provide knowledge, information and opinion on the continuing struggle between reason and religion. The main purpose of this page is to encourage thoughtful consideration of what you, the reader, believe and why you believe it. It is my fondest hope that I can help to continue the work so wonderfully done by giants such as Richard Dawkins, Sam Harris, Daniel Dennet,  the late great Christopher Hitchens, and a host of others.  I don’t pretend to be the equal of these men for knowledge, wit or literary skill. However I do share their passion for encouraging doubt, reason and critical thinking. I dream, just as I am sure each of them does, of a world where humankind has reclaimed it’s power and it’s will from the boogies in the night which our ancestors created and which we have fostered for too long.

If you’re an atheist, an agnostic, or a secular humanist many of the concepts you’ll see here will be familiar. However I’d like to think I have a unique viewpoint and style that adds something to the ever present debate. If you’re a believer maybe what you find here gives you cause to question and consider what it is you believe, and if you’re undecided perhaps this page will give you resources to ease the path to decision making.

Welcome and Enjoy.

  1. I very seldom write to bloggers. I stumbled upon one of your article from a repost on Facebook “The Atheist people”, your article that starts with “I am an atheist who enjoys debate”.
I came to your blog to see more… then I stayed. Even went back to work late. Your thoughts are structured, your arguments sound, your style easy to read and your articles just flow. You say you are an aspiring writer. Forget that. You are an INSPIRING writer, already. No need to aspire to anything. The only thnings that’s missing is to be published – if that’s what you want.
So I subscribed and I’m looking forward to more.

    Thanks for sharing your thoughts
PS: I’m the one who translated Richard Dawkin’s introduction in the Out Campaign to French Canadian
    PS2: Haven’t posted an idea since 2010…maybe it’s time I re-started 🙂

    • Wow, thank you very much for the kind words. I appreciate your taking the time to write. I am always glad to find that my thoughts resonate with other people. I do aspire to publication, but I think I may have a way to go yet before I can meet that goal. Thanks again for your comment.

  2. This is to Adam Golden who wrote, “Why Does It Matter?” I would like to link to your article on my Facebook page, but I only seem to be able to link to: https://www.facebook.com/TheAtheistPeople – which I suspect will not always go to your article. What you wrote was exceptionally clear and well written. Thanks

    • Glad you liked the article, if you share it it’ll show up on your timeline. I invite you take a look at this page too, you might find some other pieces you like. Thanks for the comment.
